Diversity Leadership

Following our Founder’s Lead

Comcast Founder Ralph Roberts took an active leadership role in national and local organizations fostering diversity, including the National Conference for Community and Justice; the National Liberty Museum; and the UJA-Federation, which provides social and humanitarian services worldwide. His son, current Comcast Chairman and CEO Brian L. Roberts, continues this leadership today by promoting diversity within the company and the communities it serves. Most recently, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Museum of Tolerance recognized Brian’s commitment to supporting tolerance and acceptance when they presented him with their 2004 Humanitarian Award. To underscore the importance of this commitment, The Comcast Foundation established the Diversity Fund in 2004 to support local non-profit organizations encouraging tolerance, acceptance, and understanding of different perspectives among young people.

The Platform

"As an industry leader, a local employer, and a caring member of all the communities across our footprint, we have both the opportunity and the obligation to promote diversity across multiple media platforms. As a family of companies that integrates so many talented people and operates in so many diverse places, we are in a unique position to encourage and motivate progress. The energy and dedication of those who work with us and alongside of us are what have made our company a success." -Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and CEO, Comcast Corporation
