MP Instrument Company
MP Instrument Company was created 46 years ago at the request of the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company to address the repair needs for their test sets and tools. Led by President Mildred Pate, the company is a family owned business with a 48,000 sq. ft. facility in Houston, Texas.
MP Instrument Company is a WBENC certified Woman Owned Business (WBE). They are classified as an Historically Underutilized Business (HUB). This classification is met not only by the company location but also by the number of staff it employs that live within their community. It is their goal to utilize the services and products of diverse companies as often as possible. It is also their goal to support their community by providing job opportunities to the less fortunate and disadvantaged.
Over 25 years ago MP Instrument Company felt the need to expand their customer base and after much research determined the CATV industry to be a good fit. With the advent of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) the company knew it could be of help to the CATV Industry. Comcast engineers in the Southern Region gave them the opportunity to assist in developing a CDV (VoIP) kit that best met their needs. MP Instrument Company was able to provide product selection guidance for the kits. They were chosen as the 2008 primary supplier of CDV kits for the Comcast Southern Region.
MP Instrument Company continues to take pride in being a full service repair facility to both the Telecommunications and CATV Industries. The following is a list of some of the services they perform:
- Developing test equipment utilized in the Telecommunications Industry
- Distributor and authorized warranty and repair center for manufacturers
- Provider of new and refurbished headend equipment, distribution equipment and accessories
- Customize asset management programs to the CATV Industry that have been instrumental in utilizing excess equipment from upgrades/rebuilds and turning it into unexpected revenue for cable systems
- Provide distribution equipment upgrades
- Implemented a screen and clean program for remote controls to maximize product life
MP Instrument Company’s business footprint is predominately nationwide but they have the capacity to serve International customers as well.
